  Q: Can a hitch be welded to the frame of the vehicle?
  A: No. A hitch should never be permanently fixed to the vehicle unless specified by the manufacturer. If you must weld the hitch, be sure to have a professional weld the hitch. Improper welding can lead to a weak frame and hitch.
